POUL JAKOBSEN
Senior Economic Consultant
Poul Jakobsen joined ION from Electrolux Home Products, Inc., after a long career in various business and consulting roles in both Europe and the United States. Poul adds a considerable and varied experience to the ION team.
Poul received his Master of Science Degree in Business Economics and Auditing from Copenhagen Business School in 1994. For eight years, from 1989 to 1997, Poul worked as a financial auditor for Ernst & Young Assurance Services in Denmark, and left the company as an Audit Manager, to take up a position as financial controller with the Danish BroadcastingCorporation, before relocating to Atlanta, GA in 1999.
In Atlanta, GA, Poul worked as Director of Financial Planning for internet startup Amplified.com (Amplified Holdings, Inc.), before taking up a Finance Management position with Electrolux Home Products, Inc. in Augusta, GA in 2003. At Electrolux, Poul held various roles with responsibilities involving extensive SAP ERM solutions implementations, managing anti-dumping cases, due diligence, and sales and financial controlling. Poul was stationed as an expat in Stockholm, Sweden for four years, at the global headquarters of Electrolux Group. Here, he participated in a global SAP implementation, as solutions design manager and also took part in the solutions implementation in 14 countries in the Electrolux Group, before returning to the USA.
Poul’s experience centers around ensuring integrity in financial reporting, relevance of management reporting and how to use this in the most impactful manner for any given requirement.
Poul has great experience in engaging with a multitude of corporate entities, in different industries, cultures and levels of sophistication and complexity, to help define issues, and objectives, as well as the technical and process solutions required to achieve these goals.
With Poul’s extensive experience in IT solutions implementations as well as core financial and controlling disciplines, Poul is able to connect and bridge business needs with technical solutions.
Poul holds dual US and Danish citizenships. Apart from English, Poul is fluent in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and has a conversational knowledge of German.
